Create an integration

An integration connects one API to Connect. Create it with a name, the base URL of your API and how your users will sign in.

On this page

Create one integration per API. Everything else hangs from it: the verified domain, user authentication, the tools, the channels and the MCP address your users connect to.

Create an integration

In API and tools, choose New integration.

FieldRules
Name1 to 80 characters. Your users see it when they connect, and the assistants receive it. Use your public product name.
API base URLHTTPS on a public domain, up to 2,048 characters. Tool paths are relative to it, for example https://api.acme.com/v1 plus /orders.
AuthenticationAPI key or OAuth. You can change it later.

The base URL must follow these rules:

  • It starts with https://.
  • No user or password, no query string (?) and no fragment (#).
  • Port 443 (the default) or 8443.
  • A domain name, not an IP address, and not localhost.

Note

For now, the name and the base URL cannot be changed after you create the integration. If you need different ones, create a new integration.

Who can create integrations

Owners and admins of the account. Members can see integrations but cannot change them. An account can have up to 10 integrations.

The slug and the MCP address

Each integration gets a slug that appears in its addresses, like https://connect.grostify.com/t/acme/mcp. It does not come from the name: Connect assigns it when you verify your domain, from the domain of your API.

API hostSlug
api.acme.comacme
api.empresa.com.mxempresa
myapp.run.appmyapp
  • If the slug is taken, Connect adds -2, -3 and so on.
  • Names of well known brands and reserved words (for example api, admin, claude or whatsapp) get a random suffix of 5 characters.
  • The slug cannot be edited.

Setup steps

The integration page guides you through seven steps. It opens on the first one that is still pending.

StepDone when
1. DomainThe domain is verified.
2. AuthenticationA test credential is saved.
3. Import APIThere is at least one import or one tool.
4. ToolsAt least one tool is enabled in a channel.
5. ProductionThe integration is live.
6. WhatsAppThe WhatsApp assistant is on. Optional.
7. Web chatThe web chat is on. Optional.

Under Manage you also find Connections and Settings, where you delete the integration.

Delete an integration

Deleting an integration removes its tools, its connections, the WhatsApp links and assistant replies, the web chat sessions and conversations, and its call logs. Normal WhatsApp conversations stay in the inbox.

Warning

The keys and tokens in your own system stay valid there until each user revokes them. And the slug is retired: only your account, with the same API host, can use it again.

Deleting needs a recent sign in (within the last 10 minutes).
